Description
"In Spirit and in Truth" It is commonly said that the eye is the window of our soul. Scripture tells us that we are to pray without ceasing, or pray continually, and that those who worship God must worship Him in Spirit in truth. Additionally, we are told that if our eye is good, our whole body will full of light, and in another passage that we are to let our light shine before men. Jesus is the light of the world, when we set our minds on things above, and pray with a worshipful heart within ourselves at all times, the Light of World can shine out from us to illuminate the darkness that surrounds us, and reveal the love of God to the world.
John 4:24 Colossians 3:2 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Matthew 6:25 Matthew 5:16
Because of the use of irridescent paint, the appearance of this painting changes as you view it from different angles, the rays of light sometimes brighter and more opaque, sometimes more transparent.
A quick note about images and symbols. Many symbols have more than one meaning, depending on the purpose for which they are used and the intention of the person using them. As an example, flames can symbolize the fires of hell, or the power of the Holy Spirit, a cross can symbolize Jesus' sacrifice for us, but combine the cross with the flames and suddenly it symbolizes bigotry and racism. It has been pointed out to me that my painting also bears a resemblance to symbols that mean very different things than what my painting means. I maintain that this resemblance does not change the meaning of my painting to me. I have explained that meaning in the paragraphs above, that is what the painting symbolizes for me.
Sealed with an isolation coat and two coats of UV resistant varnish.
